The Ninja Ranks

As thus, they will only have basic skills such as the substitution jutsu and basic weapons such as kunai and shuriken. They start with those and get one custom slot. They also get ten stat points to distribute as they wish.
Genin- Academy graduates ready to take on the lower ranks of missions with their new teams. They retain their studious knowledge and gain a few more skills. They still start with basic weapons and know one of their chakra natures. They get three custom skill slots and fifteen stat points.

Jounin- Highly skilled ninja capable of taking on higher ranked missions alone and leadership over teams of younger ninja. They get a custom weapon, the ability to mix chakra natures, twelve custom skill slots, and twenty five stat points.
Special Jounin- Lumped into this category are your healers, sensory ninja, and anbu. They get everything a jounin gets but with an extra chakra nature and skill slot.
Kage- Same as special jounin but are allowed more liberty to use their village defenses in a fight without it taking up a skills slot. They also get two additional skills slots and five more stat points.
About Skill Slots
Skills slots are a way of keeping us from having over powered genin or weak jounin. It also allows for some customization. Canon ninja are exceptions to the skill slot guidelines and are allowed to keep what they have in the anime. This also helps us up the number of canon characters we get by being more lax on the restrictions. We will allow the purchase of skill slots, but they won't be cheap.
About Stat Points
Stats are on this site as a general guideline for measuring the strength of a character. We kept it simple as not to over math ourselves. After all, we're here to write not to count. The numbers are there to separate jounin from genin ect but should not be the only factor in determining who is stronger. As I said, writing plays a bigger part in things than stats.
